If you're reaching out because you want a photographer for something, I don't consider myself to be a pro but would probably be happy to help out at an indoor or outdoor event/sporting event (I do *not* bring my gear into the rain under any circumstances though) in the Cedar Rapids area. My equipment is best-suited for these types of things. I'll want courtside/sideline access with some freedom to roam, especially for indoor events due to reach limitations on my shorter zoom lens. I am less comfortable with portraits, do not have my own lighting, have no experience working with supplemental lighting, and have no experience getting people into flattering poses. That said, I could probably help with an outdoor shoot on a nice day in the Cedar Rapids area if all of that is okay with you. My macro lens and my walk-around lens would make great outdoor portrait lenses if I knew more about setting up good portrait shots.
